چکیده:
The present study explored the effect of creative teaching on promoting motivation and grammatical competence of Iranian pre-intermediate EFL learners. The study employed a pretest-posttest design with 20 EFL learners (12 females and 8 male) from ACECR language institute in Iran whose all of them are native Persian. To this end, the homogeneity of 20 EFL learners were checked through an QOPT test, 10 of whom were randomly assigned to the experimental group who received the creative way of teaching and 10 to control group who received the conventional way of teaching. The questionnaire (Attitude/Motivation test battery), originally developed by Gardner (1985) and Clement, Dornyei and Noel (1994), assessed the participant’s motivation towards learning English. The results of the prequestionnaire and pretest and post-questionnaire and posttest were analyzed through statistical test such as Mann-Whitney V Test and covariance test. The results indicated that creative teaching led to significant improvements of promoting motivation and grammatical competence among the participants in this study. These finding support the claim that creative teaching is one the important factors influencing learner’s motivation and grammatical competence. The findings of this study can be used by EFL teachers and learners, textbook designers and material developers in order to make learning process an easier and more efficient task.
